Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and through an impressive display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's triumph, the skilled cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the show.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only 4 categories—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—determined by experts.
