Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
