Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
