The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing about PlayStation as a new development. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox still intends to engage players with quality releases on its key platform.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Well-Rounded Collection
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service alone. Yet, this selection are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — rendering them excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
