Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
